West Gallery Singing Workshop
Re-create the village choir of 200 years ago! A fun day of four-part community singing in the atmospheric medieval barn led by Bristol Harmony West Gallery Quire. All voices welcome. Learn by ear if you can't read music. Instrumentalists also welcome (woodwind/strings).
West Gallery music is the type of music sung in churches during the C18 and early C19, led by the village choir and the village band. It was such FUN that the Victorians disapproved and threw out the choirs and bands in favour of organs and robed choirs. Music can be emailed in advance if required. A small additional charge for music will be payable on the day.
Tea/coffee/biscuits will be available (no charge) from 10am for a prompt start at 10:30am. Please bring a packed lunch. Booking forms form lindajhall61@googlemail.com / tel. 01633 889019 or 07891 688581. Please book by Friday 12 June if possible and enclose payment by cheque. Winterbourne Medieval Barn Trust is a registered charity - see website for details.
