Vienna Tonkunstler Symphony Orchestra

Bernstein ensured his Three Dance Episodes from his musical On The Town contained all the hits, and this concert is a nod to his genius in his centenary year.

Vienna Tonkunstler return to Birmingham, for the first time with their recently appointed Music Director, Yutaka Sado, but the true highlight is distinguished pianist Angela Hewitt, joining the orchestra for Beethoven’s aptly-nicknamed ‘Emperor’ Concerto. With the first four notes resonating throughout, Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony concludes the concert with its triumphant journey from darkness into light.
