Faure's Requiem
Still waters run deep. Gabriel Fauré was a quiet man, and there’s no anger or fury in his haunting Requiem – just some of the loveliest choral music ever written. But it can’t conceal a world of heartfelt emotion. It’ll make a perfect contrast to the fiery, thrillingly dramatic Psalms of Lili Boulanger: a true forgotten genius, who died 100 years ago, aged just 24. Mirga adores her music.
CBSO+ 6.15pm: Associate Conductor of the CBSO Chorus Julian Wilkins discusses tonight?s performance of the much-loved Fauré Requiem with Osborn Music Director Mirga Gražinyt?-Tyla.
