The Phoenix River Band, Prairie Dog

Placing music into categories is of course fraught with pitfalls – Phoenix River Band’s music is original, not heavy or pop, but there is an undoubted salute to country influences with hints of R&B and Blues - think Allman Brothers meets Chris Rea meets Jackson Browne with a touch of Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac and you have a potent mix of original songs with driving beats and soulful melodies.

Prairie Dog are a Southwest-based country roots duo playing mostly original songs with a bluegrass-tinged style and vocal harmonies that are rootsy, humorous, edgy and sometimes sensitive.
PRB’s line up is: Chris Melhuish - guitar and vocals, Dave Dunster - drums, Andy Allpass - keys, Jo Melhuish - Backing Vocals, Shelley Dunster - Backing Vocals, Byan Berry - guitars & Mike Pitt - bass.
