Mummy By Amy Gwilliam
Fourteen years ago, during break, Professor Elizabeth Niccoll lost her mother. She was sixteen. Now a celebrated Egyptologist, she is headlining an alumni event at her secondary school. Should be a breeze. But, confronted by familiar faces, memories stir and a Mummy returns. The time has come to unwind.
I suppose it’s the way we do it in Britain. We don’t anoint the dead and bind them in swaddling, or dance until we’re on the floor. We buy a sympathy card and send it.
