osca is set in Rome in 1800. It was a very unsettling time for the Italians due to political turmoil. Tosca, the beautiful singer and Cavaradossi’s lover is tricked by Scarpia to go to Cavaradossi’s house so Scarpia’s minors can follow her there. Scarpia soon learns that the police cannot find Angelotti (one of the republicans, that escaped prison) but that they have arrested Cavaradossi. In order to seduce Tosca, Scarpia tortures Cavaradossi…
