There Will Be No Intermission Tour
Amanda Palmer has announced a UK tour in celebration of her forthcoming solo album, There Will Be No Intermission, out Friday 8 March.
Palmer’s third solo LP, There Will Be No Intermission is the multi-faceted artist’s most powerful and personal collection to date, with songs that tackle the big questions: life, death, grief and how we make sense with it all.
While the themes may be dark, the album’s overall sonic and lyrical mood is one of triumph in the face of life’s most ineffably shi**y circumstances. An album comprised of a staggering 20 tracks, 10 of these are original songs complemented by 10 instrumental vignettes.
The touring show itself will feature Palmer on solo piano and ukulele, with no band accompaniment; a night of graphic, honest, and funny storytelling and songs that Palmer claims will be be her “most human and vulnerable stage-show to date”.
Boston raised but New York City dwelling International performing artist Amanda Palmer is, in her own words, a "confused musician, best-selling writer, piano-slayer, ukulele-wielder, love-lover, ruler-hater". Originally beginning her musical career with the cult punk-cabaret duo Dresden Dolls, as a solo artist Palmer reached notoriety in 2012 by raising over a million dollars with her Kickstarter campaign to fund her album. In more recent times she has performed shows with her father Jack Palmer and formed a new collaboration with Edward Ka-Spel, frontman of the Legendary Pink Dots.
