Barefoot Opera Young Artists

Barefoot Opera Young Artists, well-known for its strong production values, first class music making and high energy ensemble work present; Donizetti's Great Comedy, L'Elisir D'Amore (The Elixir of Love).

This world famous Comedy Opera which is now almost 200 years old, was first premiered back in early 19th century Italy. It is the 13th most played Opera of all time and has now found its way to the stage at St. Paul's.

Enjoy a whirlwind of Italian humour with the love-struck peasant Nemorino; the object of his affection, the wealthy land-owner Adina; Nemorino's competition Sergeant Belcore and his rowdy platoon; the self-proclaimed Dr. Encyclopaedia, Dr. Dulcamara and serial gossiper, Giannetta.

The highly experienced team includes staging by Jenny Miller, and musical direction by Lesley Anne Sammons with her talented young singers who are mainly post graduates of specialist music colleges and fledgling stars.

This is set to be one thoroughly enjoyable evening. Not to be missed!
