Two hundred years ago, more than 150,000 French, British, Dutch and Prussian soldiers fought an epic, bloody and decisive battle that ended the Napoleonic Wars. It cost the lives of tens of thousands of men but led to decades of international peace in Europe.

Now, two of the best military historians bring the historic clash between Napoleon and Wellington at Waterloo into sharp focus. This illustrated talk, based on their new book The Battle of Waterloo Experience explains how, on the morning of Sunday 18 June 1815, the two military giants faced each other for the first and only time across the sodden, rolling Belgian farmland south of Brussels.

Dan Snow has presented many fascinating history programmes for the BBC and various other channels, alongside a regular slot on The One Show. He collaborated with his father Peter on TV in the 2004 documentary series Battlefield Britain, which went on to win a BAFTA Craft Award for special effects.
