Writer and comedian Robert Newman, known for Newman and Baddiel and The Mary Whitehouse Experience, made a welcome return to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 with his first new Edinburgh show in seven years, Robert Newman's New Theory of Evolution.
This show is part of HOTBED, supporting local comedians, singer-songwriters, performance poets and more as they strive to reach the big time, all compered by Mark Kelly, “unsung hero of alternative comedy”.
Support includes The Silver Peevil, retro extra-terrestrial and Emily Barden, singer-songwriter. Visiting Earth to share the wonders of Venusian civilization and protected from the sun’s danger rays by a special helmet and woollen trunks, The Silver Peevil is a retro extra-terrestrial from the planet Venus circa 1935.
