Bard Boot Camp: Hamlet - Cut To The Bone
Morning performance including post-show Masterclass.
Part of Bard Boot Camp 2015
This special performance is offered to students studying English Literature, English Language, Drama, Theatre Studies and Performing Arts.
One man can capture the essence of Hamlet. In an astonishing, knife-edge performance, David Keller cuts to the heart of every character. From Hamlet’s first appearance to the final shocking moments, this is no ordinary production. Stripped of the politics and side-shows, yet faithful to Shakespeare’s vision and text, the play’s raw passions are laid bare.
Hamlet: Cut To The Bone is adapted by Simon Rae, a poet and playwright whose unconventional output has included a decade of irreverent topical poems for The Guardian and a revealing biography of cricketing legend W.G. Grace. RSC actor David Keller has earned critical acclaim in numerous leading roles including Othello, John Merrick in The Elephant Man and Dr Dysart in Equus.
Following the 70 minute performance there will be a half-hour Masterclass with David Keller and Simon Rae, chaired by producer Simon Fielder including the opportunity to have your own Shakespeare questions answered.
