‘Comedy with Cake’, a cleaned-up show with an interval for tea and cake, is to be held once more in aid of Light House Media Centre.

In February, a sold-out Comedy with Cake show raised £2000 for the charity, which is battling for crucial funds following a series of finance cuts.

The latest show with an all-new line up is sponsored by Wolverhampton based communications company Copestake Ltd. Managing director Kate Copestake is passionate about the venue and her involvement will allow all ticket and cake revenue from the event to go directly to the charity.

The producer of ‘Comedy with Cake’, Julie Homfray, has run the show in various venues for 5 years, but the Light House shows are particularly close to her heart:

“I’ve worked with Light House for 4 years putting together the printed progamme, website and events and this show is perfect for so many of our audiences. I take a selection of top quality comedians, sieve out the stronger language, keep in the laughs and serve with tea and cake. It’s ideal for those who love comedy on TV or radio, but who perhaps wouldn’t be comfortable going to a comedy club or evening show. It’s suitable for teenagers right through to great-grandma and is also a great Father’s Day gift.’

After the event, customers are invited to attend a live music event being held in the courtyard as part of ‘Artsfest’ at 4:00pm. The band ‘Pulp Function’ will celebrate the last 50 years of popular music with a concert suitable for all ages,
