Pride And Prejudice: The Musical

Jane Austen's beloved novel comes to the stage in this exciting and moving new musical adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. Set in 1800 England, this 2008 Richard Rodgers Award finalist musical tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, one of five sisters, who rebels against society's and her mother's wish that she must marry anyone, as long as he is rich. When she crosses paths with the rich and arrogant Mr. Darcy, a battle of wills ensues.

With a score that is melodically and harmonically lush, romantic, quirky and humorous, bookwriter, composer and lyricist Lawrence Rush has created an emotionally charged musical tapestry that brings the novel's wonderful characters to life. The musical's book is a faithful adaptation of the novel, seamlessly combining Jane Austen's time-honored words with new dialogue. With a story that is touching, profound and humorous, and a score filled with memorable songs, Pride & Prejudice promises to be an evening of theatre that will be enjoyed and cherished by audiences of all ages.
