A series of monthly talks on Astronomy and space exploration at the Discovery Space Planetarium with Laurence Anslow FRAS.

Join us once a month for an in-depth look into astronomy and space exploration, covering everything from the latest astronomical news to reviews of recent books and observing equipment. This entirely presenter-led show will tell you everything you need to know for the month ahead, and allow you to comprehensively prepare for your own observations.

Each 2-hour presentation will include use of the planetarium, reviewing the sky over the next month. Following this will be news about exploration of the Solar System and discoveries about the more distant universe. Alongside reviews of equipment for practical observation of the night sky, you will be given a chance to see some of these instruments up close. Historical anniversaries will be discussed and a comprehensive coverage of recently published and other recommended books will be included. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided in a planned short break, when informal discussions can also take place. With something for the novice and experienced stargazer alike, Starlight Odyssey is not to be missed!

Presented by Laurence Anslow, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and Chloe Elliott, a former Winston Astronomy student and Astrophysics graduate of the University of Exeter.

We look forward to meeting you for two hours of all things cosmic!
