A fundraising event present by St Benet Biscop Cahtolic Academy to provide a life-changing experience for students and support life-changing research.
In July 2020 a group of students from St. Benet Biscop Catholic Academy in Northumberland will head out on a four-week expedition to one of the poorest nations in the world, Cambodia. There they will be involved in projects to build kitchens, toilets and schools, install water systems and help with reforestation and community education projects. This work will support less fortunate commnities by providing essentials that we take for granted.
Living in or close to local communities will enable our students to really appreciate how tough daily life can be but at the same time how resilient and strong the human spirit is in order to overcome the adversities that life throws at us. We know that they will learn many lessons from their expedition and will carry them in theirs hearts to pull out, dust down and use whenever they may need them in the future.
All proceeds from the sale of tickets will go towards supporting the students on their Cambodian Expedition and to Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK, two charities very close to our hearts.
