On The Battlefield

To mark the 100 year anniversary of the start of the Battle of the Somme, The People's Orchestra are performing a concert at West Bromwich Town Hall. Also, attending is former prisoner of war, John Peters, who will be giving a short account of his own experiences in the dire circumstances of war and how he has turned his experience into his strength.

The People's Orchestra, a registered charity and funded by the Arts Council, have arranged for an exciting repertoire of music from some of the most iconic war film scores of all time – Warhorse, Dambusters, Saving Private Ryan and many more. Special guest John Peters was a former prisoner of war in the Gulf War, after his plane was shot down in Iraq. Now he works as a motivational speaker and is offering his time to present a small talk about his treatment and experiences being a POW.

Remember one of the darkest times in our history with respect and wonderful music from the talented People's Orchestra.
