In Paradisum
Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, one of the landmark choral works of the late 19th century, will feature in the second half with a treble, James Gooding singing the Pie Jesu solo.
The programme also includes music by Bach, Dupré, Poulenc, Messiaen and Whitacre together with an exciting new Mass setting by David Briggs, the British organ virtuoso and composer.
Finally the choir is proud to be giving the première of a work with poignant local connections, commissioned from David Bednall - French music specialist, former Wells Cathedral Assistant Organist and now at Bristol - and celebrating the life of former choir member Rosemary Semple.
The choir will be joined by Graham Caldbeck, conductor and Southern Sinfonia.
