Revered especially for his works for singers, Jonathan Dove is probably the most significant British opera composer since Britten. His colourful, skilful, optimistic music has also made him a first choice composer for big occasions with premieres at the Last Night of the Proms in both 2010 and 2016. He also has a career-long engagement with music for the community and will doubtless want to pass on his unparalleled expertise in how to communicate and generate theatre through music to young composers at this masterclass.
