Baroque Masters: La Serenissima in Settecento

Violinist Adrian Chandler’s acclaimed baroque ensemble offers an exclusive chance to hear a selection of the greatest 17th Century Italian instrumental music ahead of recording sessions for a new CD in Cedars Hall. The programme includes concertos and sonatas by Vivaldi, Tartini and Scarlatti plus a gorgeous sonata for recorder, two violins and continuo by Francesco Mancini featuring special guest Tabea Debus.
There will be a pre-concert talk by Adrian Chandler at 6.00pm which is free to ticket holders.
The seating for this concert is unreserved. Free for 25s and under.
Early music ensemble formed in 1994 and comprising director Adrian Chandler (violin), Mhairi Lawson (soprano), Pamela Thorby (recorder), Katy Bircher (flute), Gail Hennessy (oboe), Peter Whelan (bassoon), Simon Munday (trumpet), Sarah Moffatt, Simon Kodurand, Sara Deborah Struntz and Cecilia Bernardini (violins), Malgosia Ziemkiewicz and Peter Collyer (violas), Gareth Deats (cello), Eligio Luis Quinteiro (theorbo) and James Johnstone, Joseph McHardy and Robert Howarth (keyboards).
