The Humour Of Noel Coward
An Evening of Humour, Music and Nostalgia.
Following their successful Flanders and Swann and Gilbert and Sullivan shows, Gordon Peters and David Carter have put their tribute to Noel Coward on the road to complete a perfect trilogy.
Sticking as always to comedy (Gordon doesn’t have the face for straight) this show consists of some of the most humorous songs that Noel Coward wrote.
Most people know of Mad Dogs, Stately Homes etc but with this show you are given some very funny songs that are rarely performed yet are absolute hilarious. Expect some wonderful anecdotes too.
Noel Coward justly deserves the title of The Master for he was author, lyricist, composer, actor, director, producer all rolled into one.
As he himself said 'I am an enormously talented person and there’s no denying it'.
Gordon (Dads Army, My Family, R U Being Served, One Foot in the Grave etc) shares the limelight with his excellent accompanist David Carter on the piano, who was also Danny La Rue’s MD for 20 years.
Tea will be served by the Athenaeum Friends during the interval.
