Adult Workshops: Landscape

You will explore the nature of landscape work in watercolour or gouache. Traditional and modern interpretations of a landscape will be looked at, as well as basic techniques and colour theory. They’ll ask you to paint a Walsall scene from the gallery roof terrace, weather permitting. The works we will particularly look at are Francis Dodd, Clouds, Hills and Fields and Jacob Epstein, Autumn Landscape.

Discussion of works, in all sessions, will last approximately 30mins, with the practical workshops and questions, feedback and discussion for the remainder. Some materials will be provided, but please bring your own if you have them. All the works we will be looking at in detail are on display in the gallery and you can come and see them or look them up on the gallery website and look under Search the Collection.
