Adult Workshops: Abstract

For this workshop you will explore the differences that make up an abstract work and their purpose. They’ll be discussion about colour theory and application of paint. You’ll need to choose your own object or photo to bring in or work with a concept and abstract essences to create your piece of abstract painting. The works we will particularly look at are William Gear, Landscape Study and Michael Wishart, Moths on Blue Path.

Discussion of works, in all sessions, will last approximately 30mins, with the practical workshops and questions, feedback and discussion for the remainder. Some materials will be provided, but please bring your own if you have them. All the works we will be looking at in detail are on display in the gallery and you can come and see them or look them up on the gallery website and look under Search the Collection.
