That is until the day he finds himself at a local farm, peering into a nest, he discovers ‘Kes’ and a talent and purpose he never knew he had. He nurtures and rears the bird with a care and attention he has never known, before long, boy and bird are ready to soar above their hometown. But Billy makes a decision with devasting consequences.
