Barb Jungr brings her celebrated collection of songs celebrating the chansons tradition.

With her specially commissioned translations of Jacques Brel and Prevert, and including British chansons writers, Elvis Costello, Robb Johnson and the balladic Tom Rush and Leonard Cohen, Jungr returns to the material that launched her career in the USA and the UK.

Barb Jungr and her musicians returns to The Ventnor Arts Club with her much requested chansons repertoire including the specially commissioned translations that have brought Jungr two New York Awards and established her career in the UK. The concert will also include material by Jacques Brel and Leo Ferre as well as some of the British and American chansons writers including Richard Thompson, Elvis Costello and Jungr’s great love Bob Dylan.

Jungr is the recipient of the 2008 New York Nightlife Award for 'Outstanding Cabaret Singer' and the 2003 New York Backstage Award for 'Best International Artist'. She has released 6 albums for Linn Records Label, including Just Like A Woman - Hymn To Nina (featuring the repertoire of Nina Simone) which brought her critical acclaim and rave reviews. Her most recently released CD on Kristalyn Records, Hard Rain, has won the Broadway World Award for best Cabaret CD 2014 alongside garnering 4 and 5 star reviews worldwide, and Jungr is shortlisted as Best Vocalist by the London Cabaret Awards 2015. accompanied by Jenny Carr.
