A Chorus Of Disapproval

Please join The Chameleons in their 50th year, as they take you into the wonderful world of Alan Ayckbourn with his classic farce focussing on the activities of Pendon Amateur Light Operatic Society (PALOS) on and offstage.

Guy Jones, a recently widowed law practitioner moves to Wales and joins PALOS, a familiarly organised Operatics society. Guy is a friendly chap whose only character flaw is his inability to say “no”, which stands him in good stead with the show as he is unwittingly elevated to the dizzying heights of the lead role in their next production, A Beggar’s Opera. However, advances from the cast and chorus lead to him forging some slightly more unwelcome relationships which he simply cannot resist.

The show has been performed across the country, most recently in the West End with a performance of note from comedian and actor Rob Brydon . The 1989 film adaptation starred Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Irons, Richard Briers, Lionel Jeffries and Patsy Kensit.
