Exactly 35 years since releasing their landmark album Dare!, The Human League have announced they will play Uttoxeter Racecourse, in Staffordshire, on Saturday May 14th.
With four Top 10 albums and eight Top 10 singles in the UK as well as two US Number 1 singles, The Human League have sold more than 20 million records worldwide; and have been cited by everyone from Madonna to Moby, and The Pet Shop Boys to Robbie Williams, as an influence.
Famously described by David Bowie in 1979 as "the sound of the future" The Human League have never rested on their laurels, and still play to sell-out crowds who flock to watch vocalist and songwriter Philip Oakey and long-serving female vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley roll back the years with such mega-hits as 'Don't you want me', 'Mirror Man', and 'Together in electric dreams'.
Uttoxeter Racecourse is keen to build on the success of their previous Live Music Racedays, which have featured UB40 and Texas; and the appearance of The Human League is being heralded as a major coup.
