Eel Pie Club - Acoustic Set

On Thursday 24 September, the legendary Pretty Things - with 2 original Members - will be performing their acoustic set at Twickenham's famous Eel Pie Club. This special event is part of the Richmond Music & Drama Festival and takes place in Twickenham during the Rugby World Cup.

The Pretty Things are at the heart of Richmond & Twickenham Rhythm & Blues. These legendary 'bad boys of rock' created some of the most exciting and innovative records of the late 60s and early 70s. In 2011 they were awarded the Hero award at the Mojo Honours and have been name checked over the years by an array of artists ranging from The Clash, David Bowie & Aerosmith through to The Libertines and Kasabian. They have just released a brand new CD "Sweet Pretty Things".

For their Eel Pie Club gig, original Pretty Thing, Phil May is on lead vocals, guitar and blues harp. Dick Taylor (original Pretty Things and also an original Rolling Stone) is on acoustic, slide and lead guitar, and Frank Holland is on acoustic, slide guitar, backing vocals and harp. The Pretty Things' first 3 singles, 'Rosalyn', 'Don't Bring Me Down' and 'Honey I Need' all made the charts. The band then moved from rhythm and blues, through psychedelia, their famous rock opera, S.F. Sorrow, and heavy metal - and now back to the music that made them famous – Rhythm and Blues. Plus support by Sam Brothers.

* The Pretty Things will be performing an acoustic set only
