What's Up, MuMu?
£4 per child, adults go free.
David Mackintosh is particularly fond of writing picture books about overcoming problems and fears and he does so with a wry smile and some loose and energetic drawing. As a graphic designer David has worked with some of the biggest names in children’s publishing designing books and covers. His first book Marshall Armstrong is New to Our School was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and won the Hampshire Book Prize and the Please Touch Book Award.
His latest picture book What’s Up, MuMu? was published in August and features a ‘thing’ that would try the patience of a saint. Fortunately MuMu has a good friend who can weather her storm. But isn’t that what friendships are all about?
In this session David will read from MuMu and talk about what’s important to his process when writing. He will also show how he draws and makes some of his pictures and books and will be happy to sign books afterwards.
Suitable for children aged 5 – 10 years
