Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra lines up another exciting season of concerts.

Following the great success and popularity of the RTWSO’s first ever Opera Gala in the 2016/17 season, we are very pleased to present our second Opera Gala as part of the 2019/20 season.

Our programme will be entirely new and four top class opera singers will treat us to some of the most memorable moments and thrilling highlights from a selection of the best known operas by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Bizet, Rossini and others. Orchestral overtures, dramatic arias, quartets, intermezzos and beautiful duets are all here in what promises to be a wonderful concert of opera for all!

Susana Gaspar Soprano
Susanna Gaspar is a Portuguese soprano, an alumna of ROH Young Artists. Her recent appearances include a concert performance with the London Symphony Orchestra. Susanna represented Portugal in the 2013 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.

Cátia Moreso Mezzo
Cátia obtained a BMus and Masters Degree (Opera Course) with distinction at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and trained at National Opera Studio where she studied with Susan Waters. Future plans include Lucia in La Gazza ladra by Rossini (TNSC), Emilia in Verdi’s Otello at Días da Música (CCB).

Jung Soo Yun Tenor
Jung Soo Yun’s highlights include Rodolfo in La Bohème and Alfredo in La Traviata (Danish National Opera); Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi (Gothenburg Opera); Mainfroid in Les Vêpres siciliennes (Royal Opera House); and Macduff in Macbeth (Opera North). Future engagements include major role and debuts with Welsh National Opera, Gothenburg Opera, and in Hong Kong.

Richard Morrison Baritone
Widely respected for his warm, lyrical voice and versatility as a performer, Richard has appeared at concert halls and opera houses throughout Europe, including the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Staatsoper Hannover, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Royal Albert Hall. In broadcasting he has appeared on BBC TV and Radio, Sky Arts and Classic FM.
