They'd been about for a little while (remember 'Fly Life'?) but anyone on the dancefloor in 1999 would have found the funky progressive house rhythms of monster club hit 'Red Alert' irresistible. Producers, remixers and DJ duo Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton had arrived, and followed 'Red Alert' with a string of other club anthems and Top 10 hits including 'Romeo' and 'Where's Your Head At?'. 2014 sees the release of their first new album in five years; 'Junto'.

Former singer for hardcore outfit Million Dead turned folk troubadour, Frank Turner has seen his fame flourish through, essentially, the old fashioned route - hard work, continuous gigging and word of mouth. His singer-songwriter solo career steadily grew from cult status to an arena filler, eventually playing London's O2 and Wembley Stadium. It has been an eventful decade for the troubadour from Winchester who now resides in Holloway, North London. Turner released his debut album, “Sleep is For The Week”, in 2007 and has been on a stunning upward curve ever since. He is now one of the country’s most cherished songwriters, a man who plays the biggest venues in the land and whose records reach the higher echelons of the charts but who has never lost sight of his original MO: write, record, tour, repeat. His blend of folk-punk-rock and powerful lyrics has seen him continue playing to an already devoted fanbase, but he picks up new fans with every festival appearance and tour.

Replacing regular guitar with samples, Esser's live show is a collection of very slick sampling and huge drum beats with plenty of extra percussion on top. Similar to early Beck in many ways, except replace that American Scientologist drawl with very English punctuation and dry humour and you can see why Esser is causing a stir.

Giles Robson and The Dirty Aces
Formed by Giles Robson (who first came to the attention of the UK national press in 2010 when backing blues legend Muddy Waters’ eldest son Mud Morganfield) and guitarist Filip Kozlowski in 2007. Many influences weave through their original and powerful material, with echoes of Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Sonny Boy Williamson, Django Reinhardt, Elvis Presley and Howlin Wolf coming through. Their memorable songs are infused with a tough humour, earthy sentiments and wicked grins. Kozlowski brings to the table and advanced and creative music knowledge that melds with Robson's melodic ideas and fresh, original lyrics. The rhythm section of the band is made up of the crème de la crème of British blues talent: Ian Jennings on double bass and Mike Hellier, a British blues drumming supremo. 'A terrific band' (BBC6 Music).
