The history of those Welsh Italians who, having arrived in South Wales from the small town of Bardi and its surrounding villages in Apennine Mountains of Northern Italy in the 1880’s, began those chains of cafes, ice-cream parlours and fish and chip shops which remain, albeit in dwindling numbers, a colourful part of Valleys’ culture, presented by Mario Basini.
