Strings, Wheel and Fingers
The great improviser and composer Stevie Wishart creates a magical late-night ambience with one of the most extraordinary of medieval instruments, the hurdy gurdy, and the medieval fiddle. Stevie has performed at London’s Wigmore Hall, the BBC Proms, the Southbank, ICA and Sydney Opera House, and extensively throughout Europe, the USA, and Australia; she is currently Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University, and has run education projects for Britten Sifonia, acted as music consultant for the Royal Shakespeare Company and has collaborated with Fred Frith, the Art Zoyd Studio, and ensemble Musiques Nouvelles.
Her creative and collaborative concert will include guest artists including jazz trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and Joanna MacGregor.
