Robin Hood - The Arrow In The Oak
Things are pretty miserable for the townsfolk of Nottingham.
They are forced to pay almost all their earnings to the evil Sheriff, who has put a tax on just about everything including the use of the Town Midden (otherwise known as the Public loo)!
Young Robin Locksley returns to his home town to find that the Sheriff and his evil sidekicks, Block and Tackle, have stolen his father’s lands and burned down the family mansion and now the Sheriff plans to force Robin’s own sweetheart, the lovely maid Marion, into marriage.
Robin retreats to a hideout in Sherwood forest, where he is joined by trusted friends Will Scarlet, Little John, Friar Tuck and Much, the miller’s son (known locally as ‘M’).
When Robin learns that the Sheriff has imprisoned Marion in the castle dungeon, he is determined to rescue her.
He discovers that the star-struck Prince John, or ‘Poppin’ Prince’ as he is nicknamed by the locals, is planning to host ‘Ye Voice 1192’ in the Royal castle, and soon a daring plan unfolds featuring a magic potion brewed by the Wise Woman, the Merrie Men in a cunning disguise, Mistress Nancy (a witty dame), the impoverished Bard, Simon Onadole, and the Spruce Girls - a girl band dressed as outlaws.
