My Life, My Story

It was the conflict of a generation and one that many people will never forget. On the 2nd of April 1982 Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands.

The Islands, which had been in the control of Great Britain for nearly 150 years, became a battle ground. What was to follow saw 655 Argentinian Soldiers and 255 British Servicemen slain.

Amongst those sent to the conflict was Simon Weston CBE.

In one of the most horrific moments of the conflict the RFA Sir Galahad was bombed by two Argentinian planes. Aboard at the time was Simon. This was an event that was to change his life forever.

Eventually and against all odds, Simon escaped the burning and buckled ship, but only after suffering 46% burns to his body. Today he has become one of the most recognised faces of the conflict and, after his 2015 success, he is now returning to the stage to tell his story in his words.

The show features the highs and lows. Combined with rare footage and an insight in to his life today, Simon shares the shocking truth of the conflict, that day and the years that followed.
