Prose or poetry? Why not both?

From its birthplace in Japan, the English language haibun is experiencing a renaissance on both sides of the Atlantic.

It uniquely balances prose with poetry and lends itself to a variety of styles and forms: journalling, the lyrical essay, memoir, nature and travel writing.

We'll read some haibun for inspiration and have a go at constructing our own.
