The Secrets Of Biography - From 007 To 18 Poems
The release of the new James Bond film Spectre at the end of October coincides with this latest Dylan Thomas Festival.
Andrew Lycett, who is well-known for his biography of Dylan Thomas, is also the author of a much praised life of Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond.
In this exciting illustrated talk, he explores the links between Dylan Thomas and Fleming. (Did you know that, for example, Augustus John, Caitlin Thomas's sometime lover and family friend, was the father of Fleming's half-sister Amaryllis?)
Lycett expands on his various biographies (others have been about Arthur Conan Doyle, Rudyard Kipling and WIlkie Collins), what brings them together, some of the secrets he has uncovered, and how he goes about writing the lives of such well-known figures.
