Swanage Drama Company

Swanage Drama Company present a farce written by Anthony Marriott and Bob Grant.

Set in the Lawns Hotel, Kingstanton in 1975, it is the weekend of the Music Festival and the Manageress is anxious that things should go well.

She clings on to the belief that her beloved hotel is far above its one star status when in actual fact it is just valiantly retaining a certain seedy charm from an earlier period. She is certainly not helped by the porter, Albert, who is miserable, belligerent and rude to the guests.

Booked in amongst the gathering of is a naïve honeymoon couple whose only wish in life is to get on with their honeymoon together in the Bridal Suite 12A and a Doctor who hopes to have some quality time his young secretary.

They are all, alas, swept into a wild of mistaken identities and misunderstandings, not helped by the Hotel’s poor room registration system and the of the good Doctor’s wife!

Add to this mix a middle-aged stroppy French Horn Player and his alcoholic wife and things go wrong but with hilarious consequences for the audience.
