Lettice And Lovage
Written by Peter Shaffer.
Lettice Douffet is employed as a guide at the boring Fustian House. In order to liven up the tours, she begins embellishing the stories of what happened there, and starts enjoying herself. Apart from one challenge by a surly man, the visitors lap up her stories, and she begins to receive many tips.
However, a visit from the stern Lottie Schoen, who works for Lettice’s employers, ends Lettice’s flights of fancy. She is called to Lottie’s office, and sacked, despite her explanation of her theatrical upbringing by her actress mother, and the appreciative letters she has received from satisfied visitors to Fustian House.
