Savonarola, the 15th century whistleblower, returns from the afterlife. Why does the dead Savonarola choose to enter the body of a dissolute stand-up comedian and return to earth?

In the 15th century, Florence Savonarola fought against Lorenzo de Medici whose banking houses were in Persia, Egypt, Morocco, France, Flanders, even in China and controlled every principality on the Italian peninsula including the Vatican. No king of Europe could go to war without applying to Lorenzo de Medici for financial support.
