Modern Cautionary Tales for Children is an acclaimed mix of poetry, stand-up comedy, storytelling with a touch of panto and lots of fun participation.
BBC Radio 6 and Radio 4 poet Murray Lachlan Young’s show for children is an hilarious and positive route to showing children that poetry can be fun, thought-provoking and even quite cool!
Expect a raucous, silly, scary, funny, poignant and enlightening hour of merriment and mayhem packed with dark tales and nonsense. This is a show that gets children dancing on-stage, completing simple fun poems, being ponies and getting seriously involved in live interactive poetry.
Murray said: “Modern Cautionary Tales is a show about telling children they are good enough and maybe the things they think are the wrong things might just turn out to be the right things. It’s a riot of fun, farting, Dad dancing and dropping down dead on the floor. It’s great for adults because it speaks to the inner child in us all
and the whole show ends in a giant conga. No child will be excluded, everyone can join in.

The first poet to get a million pound record deal. A fascinating combination of performance poetry, social commentary and stand up. Imagine Oscar…
