Flowers Band

The Flowers Band, based in Gloucester. After negotiation with the Ministry of Defence, the instruments were purchased and most of the former R.G.H. bandsmen, together with other local players, formed the City of Gloucester Band. Since then the band has had a variety of sponsors including Whitbread in the Community and Flowers Brewery.

Much success has been gained under the 'Flowers' name in the contest field. 2014 was the most successful year in Flowers Band history! They entered four contests and won all four, completing two hat-tricks at Yeovil and the West of England Championships. The big win for the band came in April when they won the Grand Shield for the third time and are now back competing in the British Open. This contest success has continued into 2015 with a fourth victory in five years at the prestigious Butlin's Mineworkers Championship in January.
