The 15th century Florentine preacher Savonarola, hanged and burnt to death on orders from the Vatican, returns from the after-life with an idealism to inspire and lead us forward six centuries later.

This whistle-blower on church corruption stood up to the multinational banking houses of the Medici and was a thorn in the side of the Vatican!

He persuaded the Florentines to rid themselves of their vain materialism. His statue still stands at the foot of Luther’s monument at Worms as a reputed "forerunner of the Reformation".
