Pip came from humble beginnings, brought up by hand by his temperamental sister and her loveable husband, Joe. A brush with an escaped convict and under the omnipresent and watchful eye of the damaged, ethereal Miss Havisham Pip finds himself in London, gifted with wealth and opportunity from an unknown benefactor Y4; but will he ever be able to leave his old life behind and escape the emotional clutches of Miss Havisham and her beautiful young ward Estella?

Great Expectations takes us on a journey to explore the highs and lows of youth, love and the hand of fate. Second Face uses five actors tell you the of a young man with great expectations, jumping playfully between characters and settings, delighting audiences from start to finish.

Second Face Theatre Company return once again with a stunning adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. Following the success of past productions, Mouthing Off by Grasey Mayes (“An exceptional achievement” - Theatre Bath) and That Moment by Dougie Blaxland (“a wonderful performance that is a delight to witness” ­ Guide2Bristol), the return with a new adaptation of this classic story.
