The worlds of pre-First World War England and early 20th Century jazz age America come together with Froissart, Elgar’s take on Medieval chivalry, Delius’ pastoral-inspired The Walk to the Paradise Garden and Vaughan William’s folksong-infused overture to The Wasps giving way to one of the most popular
of all classics, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with prize-winning piano soloist Samantha Ward.

The concert, with young London-based guest conductor Jack Smith, will end with Last Night of the Proms celebrations.
