Beethoven Violin Concerto
After the sizzling overture to Mozart’s comic opera The Marriage of Figaro, the Mid-Somerset Orchestra welcomes young violin virtuoso Daniel Rainey, graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, in a performance of Beethoven’s great lyrical Violin Concerto, built on a scale and grandeur greater than any previous violin concerto.
The concert will end with the elemental lyricism of the First Symphony by Sibelius, Finland’s greatest composer.
