Ali Baba And The Forty Thieves

Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is an exciting new version of the traditional story by local author Alan P Frayn, cousin of award-winning playwright, Michael Frayn.

On his journey from poor woodcutter to rich hero and ultimate conqueror of the Forty Thieves, Ali Baba encounters some very colourful characters including Alsatia, the Evil Queen of the East, Fatima Fandango, former belly dancer and now proprietress of the local supermarket, Mustafa Screwloose, Fatima’s house boy, Asbad, King of the Forty Thieves, and his two dim-witted sidekicks, Bashim and Grabbit.

Of course, there’s also a generous helping of custard pies (and even broken plates) as well as a traditional dash of ‘he’s behind you’s’ and ‘oh yes, he can’s’.
