A Night Of Drama

Creative Learning Stoke-on-Trent invites you to our Night of Drama where The Regent Academy of Performing Arts will perform a back-to-back show of two brand new pieces of writing.

Musical Differences – The Regent Senior Drama Academy are part of The National Theatre Connections 2017, performing a new play called Musical Differences by Robin French.

In the summer of Year Ten, Alex Stokes takes the fateful step of buying an electric guitar and forming his own rock group. He teams up with a mysterious young singer by the name of Joel Lawrence. What follows could well be the most incredible saga in the school’s musical history. The band survives different line-ups, impossible love affairs and brutal school politics. By Year Thirteen, they are a tightly knit four-piece, and their final gig is nothing short of remarkable – but have individual members paid too high a price?

The Marvellous Games – The Regent Junior Drama Academy will be performing a new piece of Theatre called The Marvellous Games, written by a fantastic Stoke-on-Trent Writer Kat Boon + The Regent Academy themselves!

Timothy doesn’t like being told what to do. Clara is worried. Very worried. Gilly won’t tell anyone the reason she hides in the toilets in lunchtime. One day they all received a similar message ‘Player… Ready?’ Timothy, Clara and Gilly wake up, coughing up the eggy gas to find themselves no longer in their classroom but somewhere else entirely. And so begin The Marvellous Games…
