Back in May 2010, Stoke on Trent had no comedy clubs at all and no-one in the industry wanted to touch the city with a bargepole. Up steps comedian Damion Larkin who always believed Stokies would be up for a laugh. As a result of his hard work and vision, and in partnership with the Regent Theatre in Hanley, Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club has gone from strength to strength regularly selling out. Over the years the club has welcomed the likes of Geordie TV regular Chris Ramsey (ITVs Celebrity Juice, Jack in BBC2's Hebburn), Angelo Epithemous (the burger van man from BBC2's Vic and Bob's Shooting Stars), Jim Tavare (ITVs The Sketch Show with Lee Mack, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).

LOL Comedy is continually bringing the best comedians from the international circuit and off the telly and in the last 12 months alone the club has had Zoe Lyons (BBC2's Mock the Week, BBC1's Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow), Justin Moorhouse (CH4's Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and BBC1's Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow)) and Mick Ferry (BBC1s Michael McIntrye's Comedy Roadshow).

Each show is completely different with four hysterically funny comedians including Larkin as compere “One of the country's top new comedians” BBC) and the upcoming birthday show on Saturday 14 May is no exception with a stellar line up.
