An Inspector Calls

A jolly evening in a prosperous family household is interrupted by a caller, a man introducing himself as a police inspector, making enquiries about a young girls suicide.

By the time his Inspection is through the pleasant mood of the evening has been crushed by the implication that everyone has played a vital part in the death of Eva Smith. The Inspector reveals to the family that all our lives are intertwined with each other and sometimes the suffering and the chances of happiness of those less fortunate are affected with what we think, say and do.
