Catch 22 With Micky P Kerr, Dan Nightingale, Catherine Burgis and MC Jason Cook

Catch-22 favourite Jason Cook is heading up hosting duties tonight. His innate comic timing and confident stage presence combined with a finely tuned ability to react and think on his feet make for a winning comic recipe. This combination means Danny is widely regarded as one of the best MCs on the circuit and a regular compere for the coveted Edinburgh Comedy Award Galas.

Dan Nightingale is one of the biggest names on the circuit. Brilliant powers of observation, impeccable timing and superb material – he's got it all.

'Nightingale can make just about anything funny. He's lightning-quick' – Time Out
'A superb compilation of brilliantly crafted stories' – Broadway Baby

2018 Britain's Got Talent finalist, Leeds-based primary school teacher turned comedian and social commentator, Micky P Kerr, is a breath of fresh air on the live comedy circuit. Fusing together music, spoken word and comedy, with his tongue often planted firmly in his cheek, Kerr has been described as the b*stard spawn of John Cooper Clarke.

"Kerr’s ability to get laughs out of them marks him out as perfect Radio 4 material" - Three Weeks Edinburgh

Since re-discovering her childhood miniature novelty Yamaha Portasound PSS-149 keyboard in her parent’s attic in late 2018, lovingly scraping battery acid out of its every orifice, and attaching a trademarked Keyboard Stability System (strap), Catherine Burgis has taken it upon herself to visit as many comedy nights in and beyond her home town of Manchester as possible accompanied by this versatile and (crucially) lightweight instrument. Not one to shy away from the big issues, Catherine’s songs range from a thought provoking ballad on the perils of multi-format printing to musical advice on how to achieve domestic bliss in small, confined spaces. Expect a sonic whirlwind of synthesised anxiety dreams.

Jason Cook

Jason Cook appearing at this event

Be ready for pretty much anything when Jason Cook takes to the stage. Behind his cheerful Geordie exterior lurks a dark, sharp comedic mind capable of taking an unsuspecting audience to places they didn't want to go. Dwarves, newspaper vendors, the toilets at raves, true-to-life stories that drag you in and won't let go. Cook is close to the edge but always intriguing and blessed with the sort of charm that'll have you laughing in spite of yourself. 'A wonderfully life-affirming, beautifully crafted, total and utter joy. My jaw aches from laughing' (Time Out) 'Few people have his warmth and spontaneity; it's an act you'd gladly watch again and again' (The Skinny).
